I treasure my chosen career and truly believe I'm doing what I was meant to do with my life. I earned my teaching credential from Chico State University. I've taught kindergarten through eighth grades. My first assignment was teaching second grade in Neal Dow School in Chico. When I moved back to Shasta County I began teaching kindergarten at Meadow Lane School. A few years later I moved to Anderson Middle School to teach the Opportunity program and now I'm here at Anderson Heights School. I've taught the before and after school reading intervention classes. I taught reading in the Project Share after school program. i currently teach in the before school Gifted and Talented program along with teaching third grade. I enjoy the fact that no two days are exactly alike in the classroom, something is always happening: wonder, curiosity and excitement abound in a busy setting. I appreciate being able to provide a clean, organized and safe place where children can make mistakes, learn from them and move on with a feeling of accomplishment and pride. It is a precious moment when you witness a student find satisfaction and joy as they meet a personal goal. I love my job!
